My Mate Ren

‘Ren did my eye make up too cos I’m still struggling a bit with liquid eyeliner.
We forgot about shaving till just before we had to go, so I did my armpits in the sink, while
Ren shaved her legs in the bath. Brushed our teeth in unison.’

My Mate Ren is raw, unapologetic, and unashamed storytelling. It’s a coming of age story
about growing up in the North East. We join Alex as she tells us about first kisses, sex,
tinnies, cherry sourz, and her best mate Ren.

Following the performance there will be a post show talk in the bar with Director Holly Gallagher and Actor Jackie Edwards.

‘The lights! The sound! The SONGS!! Mega nostalgia, many goosebumps. Very true.’
‘Beautiful storytelling by @JackieEdwards95. I laughed (a lot), had tears and remembered
how scary growing up is.
Thanks for your beautiful words @TamsinDaisy.’
